Internet attacks breach EU carbon trading system

BRUSSELS (Reuters) – cyber-attacks on the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS), launched by the European Commission to revise its guidelines to ensure safety on the Internet, “the commission said on Thursday.

ETS is a country of 27, the main instrument of the European Union to force industry to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases.

The Commission stated that fraudulent transactions were with a fake e-mail to users asked to register on the website and spread their malicious codes and passwords.

“But there was a Security Council Secretariat and the Community independent transaction does not interfere,” the Commission said in a statement.
