Obama Supports Freedom of Internet Access in China
United States President Barack Obama with a firm but polite to ask the Government of China provides free internet access for its residents.
That Obama raised during his first visit to the Land of the Bamboo Curtain. Obama says, criticism of political leaders are allowed. Even with the free flow of information through the Internet must be supported.
“I was the main supporter nonsensor. Every country has a tradition of different, I can tell you that in the U.S., we have free internet access. In fact, it has become a source of strength that information flow is very strong and I think the positives from this example should we support, “Obama said as quoted by The Washington Post, Monday (november/16/2009).
Obama also share experiences and speak directly with leaders of China that free discussion forums, including the criticism, maybe it sounds very disturbing. But according to him, things like that can help a leader make a better change, because it would not force someone to listen to criticism of what he did not want to hear.
China is known as a very strict country to curb the freedom of its citizens in the opinion. This country was often criticized as the ‘Great Firewall of China’, which refers to technologies designed to block the web and sites that could be considered a threat.
Currently China became the country with the largest number of Internet users in the world with the number netter more than 250 million people. But until now, residents are still bound by strict rules imposed by the government. China recorded frequently and blocking Internet sites, especially if it coincides with the momentum of the historic celebration of emotion potentially controversial clashes.
