Based on the results of that poll forum held Anti-Bullying Alliance (ABA), more than 22 percent of child victims of cyberbullying do not know how to protect themselves on the internet. Around 61 per cent mentioned that a good way to stop cyberbullying is to ask their parents how to handle it.

Cyberbullying is now stalking the children along with the increasing use of the Internet for school-age children. The paedofil often use the Internet to find their prey. In the UK, the most tragic example was the death of a little girl named Sarah who was murdered by a paedofil in 2000 ago.

Since then, the British government warned parents to supervise their children to avoid cyberbullying. Sarah’s mother Sara Payne, now also called for monitoring the Internet for kids.

“All you need to do is inform and supervise them in the surf. Parents must provide education to their children so they will not easily trust with the people who are not known,” Payne said as quoted by the Telegraph, Tuesday (november/17/2009) .

Payne also invite parents to install monitoring software on computers and their accompanying children when accessing the internet.

This survey also found approximately 40 per cent of children rarely access social networking sites, and 19 percent admitted very often access it. Based on surveys of more than 200 children on average are aged between 10 and 11 years.
